We're still waiting on the allergy test results. In the meantime, we are not eating nuts at our place--better safe than sorry. So, here was my dinner last night.
I have to say, it takes 3 or 4 bites, but then I don't mind the sunbutter (made from sunflower seeds), especially with a generous slathering of strawberry preserves!

I used to eat almond butter because they thought that I had an allergy to peanuts. I really liked it. It was easier to get used to than the sunflower one...i don't know if your doctor thinks that's too close to peanuts or what...but I really like the stuff! Did you hear anything yet?
No news yet! We're hoping to hear before the weekend *crosses fingers*
It would depend on if it is just a peanut allergy or a peanut and tree nut allergy like my cousin...the doc didn't test for tree nuts, though I asked. He said we could always do that later, because if he has confirmed allergies at this point, it will be a LONG time before we try him on other nut type things.
Thanks for the thought though--I thought almond butter looked way better too. :)
Bravo for Sunnut Butter. I love the stuff...eventhough Patrick has a phychological defense against it. He won't eat it...and I wouldn't recommend it for Nehemiah until he is three...unless, of course, your allergist thinks differently. I am especially on a kick of celery sticks and sunnut butter right now. I know nothing really replaces peanut butter...but after a few years, you may actually prefer sunnut butter! Way to take the bull by the horns, Erin!!
